The volumetric modular building method can be best represented in a house designed by one of our Industry Partners, Bluescape Design. By implementing the volumetric modules into their Cross Road House suite of designs, the following renders break down the Cross Road House design revealing a number of volumetric modules (5 in total) used in the design.
The Cross Road design is considered to be a Passive House design achieving a Nathers rating well above industry standards. The use of MMOC Group’s volumetric module’s play a significant role in achieving these outcomes
Due to the high level of engineering, product selection and a precise fabrication processes used in the manufacture of our volumetric modules we achieve the following outcomes that assist in achieving reduced energy cost whilst maximising the use of your renewables, in most cases, solar energy.
In addition to the benefits outlined above, the volumetric modules also offer:
By reducing the amount of building activities and the workforce on site directly reduces time and cost.
Other impacts on cost and time can be quality, the volumetric modules provide a high level of accuracy in the fabrication process from start to finish.
Due to the accuracy of the finished volumetric modules other products such as windows, doors, joinery, fixtures and fittings and the like are installed seamlessly by adhering to required tolerances. These products can be manufacture or purchased at the very same time you commence manufacture of the volumetric modules.
The MMOC Group volumetric modular system has been fully developed, tested and certified here in Australia. Some of the required standards that were we met to obtain the Engineering Certificate our system as follows:
Australian Standards/Reference Documentation (by others)
AS/NZS 1170.0:2002 Structural Design Actions Part 0: General Principals.
AS/NZS 1170.1:2002 Structural Design Actions Part 1: Permanent, imposed and other actions.
AS/NZS 1170.2:2011 Structural Design Actions Part 2: Wind Actions.
AS/NZS 4100:1998 Steel Structures.
We here at the MMOC Group have engineered our volumetric modules to embrace and implement lean manufacturing processes including robotics (co-bots) as part of the throughput. This will squarely place the MMOC Group’s engineering on the world stage alongside other leading global modular building companies.
For builders that have recognised the immense opportunity and benefit that modular construction offers and do not have the funding / resources to enter the modular building market the MMOC Group provides a unique opportunity by implementing and using our volumetric modules.
If you are a non modular builder and would like to use the MMOC Group volumetric modules to enter the Modular Building market please use the contact form below, we can work with you and your team of Architects, Designers and Engineers including the required engineering certification, installation and technical support.
